Fresh faces are forever the focus in fashion, and here is an Australian model to watch.

I could easily write pages on pages about her beauty, but its not only her looks that make her shine but her personality.

While calling Australia home Sarah is continuously on trips to Europe for work while also studying fashion at university in Sydney. Gracing magazines like Vogue and Marie Claire, she goes from strength to strength, with the support of model agency Priscilla's.

Talking old school, talking classic, talking about a perfect example of an empowered women, talking Stephanie Seymour. With age and supermodel status comes experience the embodies the strong spirited prowess that I am currently focusing on for my design work. It is the strength of individualism I search for in all my muses.

These sensuous black and white picture truly embrace style.

Model Watch - Raquel Zimmerman

Such elegance and poise that gracefully transforms into striking sexy. Raquel Zimmerman is a Brazilian beauty, born in 1983 whose career began to take to new heights after featuring in Vogue Italia', photographed by the famed Steven Meisel.


Zimmerman has featured in an endless array of campaigns for the worlds most renowned fashion labels, like Giorgio Armani, Hermes, Fendi, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Christian Dior.... the list goes on.....

What is one most amazing characteristics about the divine Zimmerman is she is a chameleon, who manages transform an image to another level. A perfect example of this was in the 'September Issue', when working with Grace Coddington.... she knows how to maneuver...one - two - a twist into the light and snap.... the memorable image is there.

I don't believe that being a successful model is easy. There is a definable difference between a model that can transform an image to embody the essence of true amazing style, and a model the just places herself within the context of beauty.

Great + Great = Amazing

Always appreciating wonderful photography I was searching through Patrick Demarchelier'swork and came across this amazing shoot he did with the beautifully talented Australian GemmaWard. A big fan of both of them, I was not surprised that the outcome is so emotional charged.


Demarchelier always know how to work lighting, props and objects to get such a strong image which considers all elements of proportion, composition and colour. I also love how his passion for ballet dancers always manages to transcend into his work on some level.


As for the stunning Gemma Ward, I have been a big fan of hers, right back to the beginning when I watched her grace the catwalk for Third Millennium at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The show was elegant and graceful on so many levels, but there was something about Ward the made her stand out above the rest. She had such a youthful, freshness and a look that had yet to be shown to the rest of the world.

Trinity Girls - Yesterday or Today

There is simple beauty in the girls who impacted the world of fashion in the 90's and today. It is hard to call the fresh faces the new 'trinity' group since the supermodels of the 90's were the women who really were given this titles as they were credited for impacting the world of fashion on so many levels. However if you were to consider the current models in the same way they definately have the gift of beauty, style and individuality....

I always look at these pictures calmed by the serenity they exude and loving the sophistication of classic black and white photography, as well as the warm, luxurious tones of the coloured photography.

Back to Nature - STOP

Stop.... and pay attention... sometimes the most interesting and beautiful things can be found in the most odd places. On an adventure through Briggsvale, near Dorrigo, Northern New South Wales, I came across this abandoned mill. Such healthy green surroundings meet rusted old items of yester year.

Inside Homes - Carine Roitfeld

I always find it fascinating to observe how people live. It is always even more fascinating when you are looking into the homes of people who are from creative careers such as artists, fashion designers, photographers and magazine editors.

I always find my self asking, does there surroundings inform their design aesthetic? Do they try to keep their home interior minimal and simplistic so it doesn't impede on their creative process ? Do they chose only to be expressive through what wear and how they engage with others rather than through their personal environment?

The home featuring today, is editor-in-chief of Paris Vogue, Carine Roitfeld. Surprisingly her house is rather simple but I suppose this does counter balance the world of fashion that she lives in, with the richly elaborate photo shoots Paris Vogue is renowned for, and who can forget Roitfeld amazing wardrobe.

Holding onto time

If you are ever given the opportunity to use a Hasselblad - medium format camera, its strongly recommended. The technical aspects do take a little getting use to, however the beauty of the final outcome truly outshines the minor inconveniences. The colour intensity and feeling of connection you get with the image is one that seems almost unachievable with the digital SLR camera, or is it just the organic feeling you get from engaging with a camera that comes from the late 1940's, that requires more skill than the auto digital SLR counterparts of today.

Either way give it a go - its a truly creative experience.
